This will take you through the steps necessary to create a G-Code tool path using Fusion. This process replaces the Conversational programming method available on many CNC machines. The process of running the machine will be the same, simply using the .nc file we create here instead.
This guide will assume that you know how to create parametric 3D models, or that you will learn in the future of your own accord.
Set your axis orientation for your new file. Even though it’s not strictly necessary, matching the orientation of your modeling axes to the axes you will eventually mill from will reduce the mental gymnastics you will have to perform when setting up your toolpaths. Highly recommended for new learners.
Switch to the Manufacture workspace, then create a new Setup. Name the Setup after your cutting operation.
